PREMIER ANNOUNCES STUMPAGE PRICE CHANGE

VANCOUVER – The Province will update Coastal stumpage rates to reflect market realities; introduce new measures to expand the use of B.C. wood in construction; support growth and diversification in forestry; and further support forest workers, Premier Gordon Campbell announced.

FUNDING FOR STUDENT LITERACY A PRIORITY

VICTORIA – The Province is providing $5 million for the fifth consecutive year to support the efforts of school districts to improve their students’ literacy skills, bringing the five-year total to $25 million, Education Minister Shirley Bond announced.
