Sojourn 07 (Credit Canoe Susquehanna)

The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay 2008 River Sojourns included multi-day expeditions down the Patuxent and the Susquehanna Rivers. Thank you for paddling with us down the beautiful rivers of the Chesapeake watershed!

The Patuxent River Sojourn was June 19-24, 2008, from King's Landing Park to Drum Point in Calvert County, MD. For more details, contact the Alliance's Baltimore office at 410-377-6270.

The Susquehanna River Sojourn ran tributary Chemung River in June 15-21, 2008, kicking off in Corning, NY and ending at Mehoopany, PA. For more details contact the Alliance's Camp Hill office at (717) 737-8622.

The James River Sojourn is *cancelled for 2008 due to funding limitations. Please see project page for details and plan on joining us for the 2009 Sojourn!

Spirit of the Sojourn Award The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay Sojourns present a "Spirit of the Sojourn" award to a local watershed hero each year. The award is given for exemplary dedication to watershed stewardship and commitment to fostering a conservation ethic in others. Sojourn planning committee members select the awardee from local nominations - if you know of an unsung hero on the Susquehanna or Patuxent River, feel free to submit them for the award! The 2008 Spirit Award honorees names will be posted here after each sojourn ends.

*Please note that the Patuxent and Susquehanna have confirmed adequate funding for 2008.
