Corps’ Devils Lake, N.D., Lakewood area alignment alternatives focus of public open house on Nov. 19
Nov. 12, 2008
Release # PA-2008-08-082
|
SAINT PAUL, MINN. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, will host a public open house meeting on Nov. 19 in Devils Lake, N.D., focusing specifically on the alignment alternatives through the Lakewood area.
The meeting will take place at the Lakewood Park Bible Camp, 220 Woodland Ave., Devils Lake, N.D., in the cafeteria. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with a presentation by the Corps. At 6:30 p.m. there will be a question and answer period. When the question and answer period is done, the presentation will be shown again and there will be Corps people and other government officials there to talk one-on-one with the public.
|
“The purpose of the meeting is to have a detailed review of these alignments to refine options for consideration,” said the Corps’ Kevin Bluhm. “We want to see how much interest there is for an alignment in the Lakewood area, if any,” said Bluhm.
Persons needing an auxiliary aid or service to attend the meeting should contact Bluhm at 651-290-5247.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, serves the American public in the areas of environmental enhancement, navigation, flood damage reduction, wetlands regulation, recreation sites and disaster response. It contributes around $126 million to the five-state district economy. The more than 625 employees work at more than 40 sites in five upper-Midwest states.
