How to Donate to the Washington Native Plant Society

Thank you for considering a donation to WNPS. A contribution to the Washington Native Plant Society is a direct investment in the work we do to conserve and protect native plants in Washington. Your gift will make a big difference in how effective we can be as a voice for Washington's Native Plants.

We are a non-profit 501-(c)3 organization, incorporated in 1976 "to promote the appreciation and conservation of Washington’s native plants and their habitats through study, education, and advocacy."

Our ability to maintain and improve existing programs while undertaking new initiatives is entirely dependent on the energy and financial support of our members and others who support native plant conservation. Donated funds support partnerships with other organizations, matching funds for grants, and the work necessary to organize and coordinate all our programs.

For donations of $250.00 or more, it will be our pleasure to send you a signed limited edition print of Cypripedium parviflorum Salisb.

Sources of WNPS income
As with most non-profit groups, membership dues do not cover all our expenses for operations and programs.

Contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations have been essential to expanding our outreach and accomplishments. Applying for grants is highly competitive in the environmental arena. While WNPS has successfully secured grants of cash (some requiring matching funds), hours, expertise, and materials, these grants require another layer of supervision and accounting. Individual chapters present varying opportunities for fund raising through sales of plants, books, and other items as well as interesting presentations and special events.
