Winter Trout Fishing
If you're thinking that the fishing season is over until spring, think again. Now is the perfect time for some catch-and-release fishing at a winter trout area or trout park. Maybe a trip to Lake Taneycomo or one of Missouri's blue-, red- or white-ribbon trout areas would be just the cure for a case of cabin fever.
Ice Melters
Our mobile society can slip and slide to a crawl when a Missouri winter arrives. Chemicals used to melt ice and snow can mean safer traveling for cars and people, but can also mean real trouble for plants and soils.
Invasive Species
"Exotic," "alien" or "non-native" species refer to plants, animals, fungi or other organisms that have been accidentally or purposefuly introduced to an area outside of their origin. This section details information about non-native, invasive wildlife that threaten Missouri's natural ecosystems.
