Tim Goodman's TV Talk Machine

TVTM 89 - Sheri From The Vale, Part Deux

Sheri from The Vale is back for a second podcast this week, still in the podcave dazling Tim Goodman, Q.B. Joe Garofoli and Benny "Choco-Knobby'' Evangelista with her revealingly short shorty robe.

And the TV Talk Machine podcast has staked it's claim on yet another continent - Africa. Dave from South Africa wants to know about the TV series "Wonderland.'' In fact, two questions came in about that series, but will Tim have any answers?

Also, we hear what's developing with the "Arrested Development'' movie, what are the chances "Scrubs'' will stick around on ABC for more than one year and what's happened to the long-running Fox sketch comedy "MADtv.''

TVTM88 - Guest Question Girl, Rush Limbaugh and Richard Nixon

This week on the TV Talk Machine podcast, The Bastard Machine regular Sheri From The Vale guests as Question Girl, joining TV critic Tim Goodman, Question Boy Joe Garofoli and a chocolate-covered Benny "Manny'' Evangelista in the podcave.

Sheri helps Tim and Q.B. break down Sunday's Golden Globe awards show, although she also entices Joe to break out his Richard "Tricky Dick'' Nixon impression.

Questions come from Walter in Florida, Frank in Texas and Tom in the 408 about shows such as "The Beast.'' Also, Tim answers a question about what he thinks of Rush Limbaugh's criticism of him for saying "24'' is out of touch in the Barack Obama era.

TVTM87 - Will "Caprica'' launch?

It's the second TV Talk Machine podcast of 2009, a little late this week due to some technical problems Manny had to iron out. But it's worth the wait, because TV critic Tim Goodman has some actual news about shows like the planned "Battlestar Galactica'' spin off "Caprica.''

But of course, it wouldn't be a TVTM without more of Question Boy, who brings his Al Gore and his Spanish Bill Walton. Also, they hear from Janet in Galgary and Jacob in South Korea.

Plus Andrew from the U.K. e-mailed his audio question, along with photos of himself and his car (click the "Read more" link below if you don't see them).

TVTM 86 - TV's Top 25, with Mimosas

Happy New Year, TVTM fans.

TV critic Tim Goodman, Question Boy/media writer Joe Garofoli and Manny the Knobmaster do their first podcast of 2009, with Tim listing his Top 25 shows of the past year.

TVTM 85 - Wrapping up the year

Tim Goodman, Question Boy Joe Garofoli and Manny wrap up the year with a TV Talk Machine Podcast that delivers topics ranging from what TV shows are improving to what wine goes good with pork butt.

Tim answers questions about whether "Fringe'' is improving enough to start watching again, or whether "Life'' itself is getting better. Maybe TV watchers should just throw everything "Under the Bus,'' Tim says.

Plus to celebrate the holidays, Tim and QB present a special episode of "Bars,'' along with a singing Walton rendition of "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.''

TVTM 84 - Back just in time for the holidays

Yes, we know, we've been gone for a while. But just in time for the holidays, Chronicle TV critic Tim Goodman and Question Boy Joe Garofoli and Manny the Knobmaster have come back with more French Walton. Not to mention a French Canadian Walton, a Happy Birthday Walton and a Santa Claus Walton. Even a real Walton sighting.

Of course, Tim fields some questions about what's up with "Big Love,'' "Peep Show,'' how "The West Wing'' foretold the future and how George Clooney was in the ER before "ER.''

TVTM 83 - Weekend Companion

In their first ever Weekend Edition of the TV Talk Machine podcast, Tim Goodman and Joe "QB'' Garofoli place an impromptu phone call to Daniel Malen, the proprietor of TheTVAddict.com.

It's a Canadian Web site devoted to TV, and they want to see if Daniel, like Ask Amber, has the answers that Tim can't provide.

Also, listeners ask Tim why he doesn't seem to like "Dexter'' as much, what's up with "Pushing Daisies'' and who should stay on "Saturday Night Live.''

TVTM 82 - How the sausage is made

The TV Talk Machine is running a little late this week, and for that we put the full blame on Question Boy, Joe Garofoli.

But better late than never, and TV critic Tim Goodman starts off by explaining for our new listeners what this podcast is all about, how the sausage is made, and why he "loves the flesh.''

Also, they talk about the late Dr. Mark Greene being back on "E.R?'' What are some of the best TV movies/miniseries on DVD. And in a hint of what's to come next, they read a letter from TVAddict.com.

TVTM 81 - Putting the "lune" in Lunesta

In this short (at least by TVTM standards) but action-packed, post-election podcast, TV critic Tim Goodman and Manny are just ROFL as Question Boy Joe Garofoli launches into a full French Walton reading a question from "that guy in Paris.''

Another big highlight -- a TVTM tribute song sung by none other than PPage. Plus there's a call from GeorgeD in the 415 and Sue from the 510 wonders if Archie Arnett is the next Ben Stiller.

And they talk about "Heroes", "True Blood", "Gossip Girl'' and "30 Rock.''

TVTM 80 - Election day podcast; Ask Amber has the answers

It's Election Day in the United States and Tim Goodman, Q.B. and Manny are wearing their red, white and blue shorty robes in a TV Talk Machine podcast that will keep voters entertained while waiting out the long lines at the polls.

Ask Amber

TV Guide of Canada

Ask Amber

And it's not just the usual podcast of mindless banter and non-answers. Tim's special guest is Amber Dowling, fellow TV critic and author of the "Ask Amber" TV column for TV Guide of Canada.

They talk about a Fall TV season that is so weak a show like "Kath & Kim'' can get picked up for a full season. And they discuss the fall of "Heroes.'' and what's happening with "The Shield''

Also, the international reach of the TVTM is still strong, with questions from as far away as Israel and Japan.
