Trout Unlimited, an Equal Opportunity Employer, employs full-time staff at the office's headquarters in Arlington, Va., and in field offices throughout the country.  Trout Unlimited can only accept resumes and applications for open positions, listed below.

Trout Unlimited provides internships throughout the year in marketing and membership, development, communications, government affairs, law, and other areas. There is a minimum 3-month commitment. A monthly stipend is avaliable ($1,000 for undergraduates, $1,500 for graduates). Generally, candidates must have solid computer experience, excellent writing and verbal skills, the ability to juggle numerous projects, a take-charge attitude, and an interest in conservation.  Specific internships will be posted in the space below when they become available.

Idaho Water Project Law Internship
Boise, Idaho Office
Trout Unlimited is seeking a law student (2L), to participate next summer (2009) in its Idaho Water Project.  The office location will be in Boise, Idaho's capital city. The intern's primary task will include researching and co-authoring a law review article suitable for law review submission regarding Idaho's water right forfeiture doctrine.  Other tasks will include assistance in researching and preparing comments to proposed revisions to Idaho's State Water Plan; research regarding the development of water markets in Idaho; and assistance in numerous legal challenges to site-specific developments/rulings affecting stream flows in the State.  more...

Eastern Water Project Law Internship
Northeastern US
This is a summer position that could be located on-site in western MA or remotely from anywhere in the Northeast.  The position will entail finalizing and editing a survey of the water laws, regulations and compacts of the eastern states for publication at the end of the summer, assistance in preparing state legislation for the 2009 legislative session; foundation and development work, and assistance in numerous legal challenges to site-specific developments/rulings affecting water quality and stream flows in the region. more...
