Stopping Bacteria in their Tracks

In a recent study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, Ohio State microbiologist Irina Artsimovitch and her colleagues were able to identify for the first time exactly how a specific antibiotic sets up a road block to stop bacterial growth in its tracks.

The findings, recently published in the journal, Nature, have important implications for the development of new and more effective antibacterial drugs.
