National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility for Kansas Heartland BioAgro Consortium

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

issued a call for proposals to research and develop solutions to some of the world's most complex human and animal diseases. Kansas answered the call and Kansas State University in Manhattan is now one of five finalists for this important federal facility. With its deep ties to agriculture, long-standing expertise in medicine and veterinary sciences, abundant technological resources, strong public support, and central location, Kansas is exceptionally well-suited to be the new home for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).
