Sea Grant's unique position within major research
universities provides us with an excellent opportunity to tap into the
base of talented researchers in Illinois and Indiana. In addition
to furthering the understanding of our world, inquiry into and
investigation of problems in the southern Lake Michigan basin directly
benefits our constituents. Through our applied research efforts,
new technologies are developed which have wide-ranging impacts on the
area's economy and quality of life. We provide decision- and
policy-makers and the public with the latest science-based information
thus enhancing their ability to make informed choices.
We are particularly pleased that we have become
affiliated with a number of institutions over a short time. As our
research program matures and develops, the Illinois-Indiana Sea grant
body of researchers will continue to grow. |
