Preliminary Agenda and Invitation

You are cordially invited to attend and participate in the 10th Wildlife Damage Management Conference.

 

This Conference is the successor to the former Great Plains Wildlife Damage Control Workshop (begun in 1973) and the Eastern Wildlife Damage Management Conference (begun in 1983). 

 

Now under the auspicies of the Wildlife Damage Management Working Group of The Wildlife Society, this Conference will be held during the spring of odd-numbered years.

 

 

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Robert Warren, President of The Wildlife Society

 

Conference Fees: $150 (US)---students $50(US)-----Late Registrations (after Feb 28) $180(US)

Special Symposia

The Conference will include topical symposia on:

 

Wildlife Diseases and Public Health

The Status and Management of Birds at Aquaculture Facilities  

and

 

Wildlife Damage Curricula in Colleges and Universities

 

Concurrent Sessions

We will hold two concurrent sessions on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday to maximize information exchange.

 

 

Field Trip

An optional all-day Conference field trip on Wednesday, April 9 will feature visits to the Aquaculture / Fisheries Center of Excellence at the Univ. of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, a lunch stop at the Delta Rivers Nature Center, and a demonstration of tools for bird depredation management at the Keo Fish Farm.  It will conclude with a tour and fish fry at the Hot Springs Fish Hatchery. Cost is $45 per person. Buses depart from the Clarion Hotel at 8:00 AM and return at about 8:00 PM. Space is limited so sign up early!

Poster presentations are encouraged, particularly from graduate and undergraduate students. Posters will be available for viewing beginning Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. If you wish to submit a poster for the Conference, please submit an Abstract/Summary as indicated and request the guidelines for poster preparation from Kathleen.A.Fagerstone@aphis.usda.gov.
