________________________________________________________________________ Lee County Voluntary Agriculture District Ordinance Adopted by the Lee County Commissioners on 09/15/08 The purpose of Lee County's Voluntary Agricultural District Ordinance is to encourage the preservation and protection of family farms, to increase the visibility of agricultural, forestry and horticultural operations and to protect and to promote these land uses. An Agricultural Advisory Board will be appointed by the Lee County Commissioners to administer the program. NC Cooperative Extension in Lee County and Lee County Soil and Water District will work closely with the board in implementing the program. Lee County Center gives our county's residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension agents deliver unbiased, research-based information to Lee County citizens.
