ALPSP response to EC green paper ‘Copyright in the Knowledge Economy’
ALPSP has submitted our response to the latest EC green paper on copyright.  Our position is that the current intellectual property regime is working pretty well and striking a good balance between the needs of users and those of rightholders.  We therefore do not see the need for any new or expanded Europe-wide copyright exceptions.

Academic Publishing in Europe 2009 Conference
Join ALPSP at the Academic Publishing in Europe Conference in Berlin on the 19th January 2009
ALPSP will be holding a special pre-meeting at the APE2009 Conference in Berlin the evening before the start of this important European meeting, with guest speaker Celina Ramjoue from the EC Research Directorate-General. ALPSP members can also receive a special full conference 'Member' rate of €450.

Latest ALPSP Scholarly Publishing Practice Survey now available
The full report provides a vast array of evidence about current policies and shows how practices have changed over time with comparisons with survey results from 2003 and 2005. There are new sections on publishers' practice on author rights and also Web 2.0 technologies. The online version is free to ALPSP members.  The report is available for purchase by non-members. Version 2.0 of TRANSFER Code of Practice released

Following extensive consultation Version 2.0 of the TRANSFER Code of Practice has been released. Publishers are being asked to endorse the Code which aims to ensure that journal content remains easily accessible when there is a transfer between parties, and to ensure that the transfer process occurs with minimum disruption.
