Family & Consumer Sciences

Mission

Family and Consumer Sciences encompasses the Family Economics and Resource Management Program, the Family Development and Management Program (FDM), and the Health Program. These programs provide research based educational programming through which limited resource consumers are able to maximize usage of available resources. Some of the overall Family and Consumer Sciences objectives include promoting economic security and “self sufficiency” and improving financial management. The program objectives are met through combined efforts of the Cooperative Extension program personnel, including on-site and field staff, community members, public agencies, and various organizations.
