The current popular literature tends to prescribe certain grandparenting behaviors rather than allow older adults to choose their own way to be grandparents. Our experience has shown us that grandparents are unlikely to read an entire book or subscribe to a grand parenting magazine to learn how to be closer to their grandchildren, but they would welcome new information that is readily accessible. We are developing a set of "Guides to Grandparents." The Guides will be short inventories with descriptions of activities and ideas.
