Algae fuels are making a comeback! Come hear NREL's Al Darzins of the National Bioenergy Center discuss the return of the Lab's algae biofuels program as interest in developing non-petroleum based transportation fuels continues to accelerate.  Algae grow in wastewater and salty water, and yields vastly more oil per acre than other more traditional oilseed crops. It promises to become an important resource by 2022 when a federal mandate requires the use of 36 billion gallons of advanced biofuels annually.
