New Zealand Cushion Star

Invaders come from everywhere. The New Zealand cushion star (Patiriella regularis) found today in Tasmanian harbours, was accidentally introduced from New Zealand.

Other invaders from New Zealand found in Australia today include crustaceans, freshwater and marine snails, and such serious weeds as mirror plant (Coprosma repens), toetoe (Cortaderia richardii) and New Zealand flax (Phormium tenax).
