Q. How do I apply?
A. Send a formal admissions application, official secondary school transcript, official results from SAT or ACT tests and an application fee of $30.00 for domestic students and $100.00 for international students to the Admissions Office.
Q. When is the application deadline?
A. The early action application deadline for the Fall is November 15 and the traditional Fall deadline is April 1.
Q. How long does it take to process an application?
A. Once all credentials are received, it takes approximately three weeks to process an application.
Q. What are the admission requirements?
A. Students must have completed the following high school courses:
4 units of English
3 units of Mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry)
3 units of Social Studies
3 units of Science (Physical Science, Life Science, Earth/Space Science)
2 units of Foreign Language
1 unit of History and Appreciation of Visual, Performing Arts
1/2 unit of Health
1/2 unit of Physical Education
7 units of Electives (5 rigorous)
Q. Will the university accept students who received a General Education Diploma?
A. Yes, along with copies of the high school transcripts up until the time you left school.
Q. How do I arrange a campus visit?
A. Call the Admissions Office to schedule an appointment.
Q. What kind of Financial Aid does KSU offer?
A. We offer the five major forms of Federal Aid Programs

Q. How do I apply for Financial Aid?
A. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid)
Q. What is the student/teacher ratio?
A. The student/teacher ratio is about 17 to 1.
Q. Who helps me choose my courses?
A. Each student is assigned an advisor as a freshman; that advisor counsels you on course selection.
Q. How many hours do you have to take per semester?
A. The normal course load is 15 to 18 credit hours per semester. An undergraduate student must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours in order to be considered a full-time student.
Q. How long do classes last?
A. Class can last from 50 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on the day of the week.
Q. Are Freshmen guaranteed housing?
A. Yes, after you are admitted to the University, you will be asked to complete a housing application and return it with a $209.00 deposit before May 1st.
Q. Can I choose my roommate?
A. The housing office makes every effort to honor you request. The most effective way to ensure this is for both of you to mail your request in at the same time. Each person must write the other person's name on his or her housing application.
Q. Do you have Co-ed dorms on campus?
A. No
Q. How much security is provided on campus?
A. KSU has a University Police Department which is on duty 24 hours a day.
Q. What type of sports do you have?
A. KSU is a Division II school. We participate in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. We have football, baseball, softball, volleyball, golf, men’s and women’s basketball, track and cross country.
Q. How many students attend KSU?
A. KSU has approximately 2,300 students.
Q. Do you have a career placement center? What services do they offer?
A. Yes, it is located in the Academic Services Building. The career center assists students with resume preparation, offers interview workshops, and helps locate internships, CO-OP opportunities and permanent jobs for graduating students.
Q. What is the Male/Female ratio?
A. It is about 40% male to 60% female.
Q. How large is KSU’s campus?
A. The campus has a 308-acre main campus; 38 buildings, including six residence halls and a 204-acre Research Farm.
Q. Do you have fraternities and sororities?
A. Eight nationally-recognized Greek organizations are represented here on the campus of KSU. They are as follows, there are four fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha Inc, Kappa Alpha Psi Inc, Phi Beta Sigma Inc, Iota Phi Theta Inc and Omega Psi Phi Inc. and four sororities: Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc, Sigma Gamma Rho Inc, Zeta Phi Beta Inc, and Delta Sigma Theta Inc. KSU also has about 30 academic and social organizations.
