Department Announces Grant to Indiana to Assist in Storm Recovery
The Department of Labor has announced a $720,000 grant to the state of Indiana to create temporary jobs for cleanup and recovery efforts as a result of storms and flooding in September.
The grant, awarded to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, will provide funding for the creation of temporary employment to assist in cleanup and recovery efforts as well as provide food, clothing, shelter and other humanitarian assistance for disaster victims. Funds may also be used to provide core, intensive and retraining services upon completion of the temporary jobs component for participants who cannot return to work.
