Project Learning Tree
- Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program
designed for and by educators working with students in pre-kindergarten through
grade 12. The program uses the forest as a "window" on the natural world, helping
to focus awareness and knowledge of all aspects of the environment, and our
place within it. PLT helps prepare students to make informed decisions about
conservation practices and natural resource use by practicing problem solving
and critical thinking skills.

LEAP
- The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is working together
with school districts throughout the state to develop an environmental education
program known as the Learning and Environmental Awareness Partnership (Project
LEAP). The focus of the project is to provide educational materials, activities,
and curricula to Indiana students and teachers in grades 3 through 8. The project
is designed to assist teachers in integrating environmental education into existing
science and health curricula in addition to assisting in the development of
a student's knowledge about the quality of Indiana's environment.

Iowa Environmental Education
- Our education page continues to improve as we add more features to our Web
site. We have added new games and crossword puzzles that test your knowledge
of Iowa's environment. Links to other sites take you to educational features
you can use today. We also feature the first in a series of program descriptions
we hope will be a good resource for students and teachers. The first piece describes
the way we set water quality standards, classify waters in the state, and assess
their condition. Other pieces are being organized and prepared for the future.

Roundtable seminars to facilitate cooperation and sharing among the states,
