This page contains enrollment and disenrollment guidance important to Prescription Drug plans.  This page also contains content for Part D plans receiving auto-enrollment, as well as guidance related to creditable coverage period determinations and the late enrollment penalty.

In addition to the guidance currently in effect, the final guidance update for plan year 2009 is available and becomes effective for all enrollment and disenrollment requests with effective dates of January 1, 2009 or later. Please note that certain aspects of this new guidance, such as new Special Election Period (SEP) and clarifications to existing SEPs, are effective immediately upon release of this new guidance; refer to the 2009 document for details.
