The Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages (the Committee) provides advice and recommendations on a broad range of issues dealing with programs and activities authorized under Section 756 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act.

The Committee was created by Congress to review the goals of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Professions (BHPr) programs that support interdisciplinary, community-based training and to make recommendations accordingly to the Secretary and the Congress. The Committee, the single existing entity that performs this function for the Department, provides advice on programmatic matters concerning the Agency in the targeted areas and/or disciplines of Area Health Education Centers, Geriatrics, Health Education Training Centers, Allied Health, Chiropractic, Podiatric Medicine, and Quentin N. Burdick Program for Rural Interdisciplinary Training.
