Turf Pesticides and Cancer Risk Database

Search the database three ways to find the cancer-causing potential of active ingredients in turf pesticide products.

What's Included?

  • Active Ingredients
111 active ingredients that have been evaluated by the USEPA for cancer risk AND that occur in turf and lawn care pesticide products registered at some time for use in New York State.

  • Products
2803 turf and lawn care pesticide products containing one or more of the evaluated active ingredients. The database contains products currently registered in New York State, as well as products that are no longer registered and products in the process of being cancelled (registered-discontinued).

What's Not Included?
"Inert" or "other ingredients" are any substances other than the active ingredient that are intentionally added to the pesticide product. Federal law does not require that the name of the inert ingredients be listed on the product label. Since this information is not publicly available, the database does not include information on the cancer risk of inert ingredients contained in pesticide products registered for use in New York State. This database only contains information on the cancer risk of the pesticide active ingredient(s) in the turf grass pesticide product. For more information on inert ingredients, see this Ribbon Newsletter article on inert ingredients.
