CAFF's offices are located just outside of Davis in a beautifully restored turn-of-the-century farm house. Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) is seeking smart, motivated, and reliable students who are passionate about food and agriculture to intern and/or volunteer with our Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign. Buy Fresh Buy Local helps people find and choose local food products, while building relationships between growers, food artisans, farmers’ markets, retailers, restaurants, and institutions. Come work in our Oakland office one afternoon a week, pitch in at an event, or work with us to design a level and type of opportunity that works for you!

BFBL Local Food Guide Intern

    • Research listings for online & print versions of Local Food Guide
    • Follow up & confirm information/eligibility of listings for online & print versions of Local Food Guide
    • Compile listings for online & print versions of Local Food Guide.
 

BFBL Restaurant Series Intern

    • Work with Program Director & Program Coordinator to launch restaurant mixer series in Spring 09
    • Solicit restaurant participation from BFBL Restaurant Partners
    • Promote monthly events to BFBL network
    • Event materials creation as needed
    • Participation and coordination at monthly events
     

BFBL Web Communications Intern

    • Build-out and maintain BFBL online social networking pages (primarily Facebook)
    • Create & post content to to online social networks
    • Promote events, etc. through online social networks
    • Research topics & draft articles for online publishing.

BFBL Business Partnership Intern

    • Work with Program Director & Program Coordinator to solicit BFBL Business Partnerships, including with restaurants, retail outlets, food artisans, & farmers
    • Follow up with Business Partnership inquiries as needed
    • Compile Business Partnership packets, including BFBL guidelines, contracts, & marketing materials
    • Follow up with merchandise & other materials requests
    • Maintain Business Partner information in online database
    • Work with Program Director & Program Coordinator to facilitate Business Partners' compliance with BFBL guidelines and implementation
