The National Technology Transfer Center at Wheeling Jesuit University is proud to announce the 2008 International Mining Health and Safety Symposium. This year’s symposium will be held in Salt Lake City, UT on July 20-22. The Symposium is sponsored by MSHA, NIOSH, UMWA, The State of Utah, Utah Labor Commission, and the Utah Mining Association.
While agenda details are still being finalized, the format will include speaker panels as well as vendor exhibits. As you are all aware, the tragic events at Crandall Canyon focused attention on the issues of bounces and bumps in mine settings. These issues will be addressed.
To facilitate your participation, online registration is available. This website will also provide details as they become available.
The Symposium will be held at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel. Rooms are being blocked and at a discounted rate of $80 (single) and $100 (double) per night. Please reference the Mining Symposium when making your reservations.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Utah. More details to come!
