The S.F. Sketchfest schedule is intense - in a good way. For the uninitiated, it can be a bit confusing because it's not just improv. Sketchfest '09 is stand-up, a screening of "Better Off Dead," local heroes like Brent Weinbach and Will Durst, a staged reading of "The Hills" and celebrity memoirs and much more. Plus, it goes on for 17 days. Here's a list of highlights:

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Not only are Tim and Eric great on the TV and YouTube, where their strange Adult Swim show flourishes, but they are great in person, too. When their tour hits San Francisco, as it's been doing for the past few years, it's usually sold out. Buy tickets ASAP for the Sketchfest date. It's hard to explain what Tim and Eric do, exactly, but it usually involves fake commercials, many celebrity stars and really great sound effects. 8 p.m. today. $25. Mezzanine. www.mezzaninesf.com.

Sunday with "Moral Orel" Another Adult Swim gem: stop-motion animated show "Moral Orel" aired its series finale this past December but will be talked about for a long time. Its mocking of white-bread middle American Christian values was so absurd that Adult Swim viewers wrote into the network, believing its 2005 Christmas show to be a joke. Panel with series creator Dino Stamatopoulos and "30 Rock" cast member (and "Moral Orel" voice) Scott Adsit. 2 p.m. Sunday. $15. Eureka Theatre. www.eurekatheatre.org.

Facebook Improv They say that someone's Facebook profile is the gateway to their soul, which is why Rob Corddry and Rob Riggle from "The Daily Show," Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel from MTV's "Human Giant," Seth Morris, Owen Burke and Chad Carter will be on stage to make fun of (presumably) real human social networking profiles. Maybe time to update your interests and take down that snarky relationship status. 8 and 10 p.m. Jan. 23. $20. Eureka Theatre.

The State Reunion MTV's comedy experiment, improv troupe the State, turned out to be one of the best things to come out of the mid-'90s. The group - Kevin Allison, Michael Ian Black, Robert Ben Garant, Todd Holoubek, Michael Patrick Jann, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Thomas Lennon, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Michael Showalter and David Wain - broke up over a decade ago but kept in touch (Showalter, Black and Wain formed the comedy group Stella). Expect new material, hope for old characters. 8 and 10 p.m. Jan. 24. $35. Eureka Theatre. And in conversation with Janeane Garofalo. 2 p.m. Jan. 25. $25. Herbst Theatre. (415) 392-4400. (Also, Stella performs at 8 p.m. Jan. 25. $25. Cobb's Comedy Club. (415) 928-4320. www.cobbscomedyclub.com.)

Monsters of Podcasting Everyone will come out to meet their favorite TV cast members (see below for "Mad Men's" Don Draper) but the real fans go to see their favorite podcasters in the flesh. Meet the folks behind the mp3s: "Jordan Jesse Go!" with Jesse Thorn and Jordan Morris and "You Look Nice Today" with Merlin Mann. 8 p.m. Jan. 25. $15. Eureka Theatre.

Fernwood Reunion with Martin Mull and Fred Willard. A pair of old hippies, probably in tie-dye and hemp. Also known for their work as part of the Christopher Guest mockumentary empire. 8 p.m. Jan. 28. $35. Cobb's Comedy Club.

Upright Citizens Brigade: A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T You can't go wrong with A.S.S.S.S.C.A.T. They are laser sharp. Starring Matt Besser, Matt Walsh, Tim Meadows, Danielle Schneider and special guests. 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Jan. 30. $30. Eureka Theatre.

Game Show Explosion! with Jimmy Pardo Celebrity panel includes: Jon Hamm, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Paul F. Tompkins, Matt Walsh, Chris Hardwick and Scott Aukerman. Don Draper! Get your Don Draper. 8 p.m. Jan. 31. $25. Cobb's Comedy Club.
