For Farmers

ASAP wants to keep farmers farming.

Here are some of the ways we can work together:

Get certified Appalachian Grown so consumers, retailers, and wholesalers can identify your product as local.  Appalachian Grown certified producers and sellers receive Appalachian Grown labels, signs, and other marketing materials from ASAP. Appalachian Grown farms are eligible for cost shares on advertising and much more.

List your farm in the Local Food Guide, a free directory to family farms, tailgate markets, and businesses using local agricultural products. The Guide is available in print and online.

List your farm in the Mixing Bowl to reach restaurant chefs.

Let us create a farmer profile and help shoppers put a face with their food.

Publicize your farm through events such as the Mountain Farm and Garden Tour and get LOCAL , a restaurant promotion.

Use our guide to farmer agencies, organizations, and associations.

Sell at the Asheville City Market or another market in the Mountain Tailgate Market Association .

Find grants for farmers and producers.

Receive assistance with business planning or a farm assessment. Email Peter to set up your appointment.

Attend conferences including Marketing Opportunities for Farmers and workshops on topics such as food safety, designed for farmers. Workshops and conferences will be announced on this site.

Learn about the resources for farmers, such as the Mobile Processing Unit and Farmers Adopting Computer Training . Check the site regularly for more.

Visit our calendar to read about the latest agricultural events—or to submit your own.

Post your wants and offers for produce, livestock, equipment, land, jobs, and more in our classifieds section
