Aquatic Noxious Weed Program

Echo Cove, Lake Pend Oreille, IdahoAs part of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) Noxious Weeds Program, the Aquatic Noxious Weeds Group coordinates statewide aquatic invasive species management and control, acting to protect the integrity of the state’s water bodies from the biological degradation caused by aquatic weeds.

By achieving this goal, the economic, recreational and aesthetic uses of water bodies are protected, water quality is maintained, and natural aquatic systems are not impaired. _________________________________________________________________

Eurasian Watermilfoil Control Program

Eurasian WatermilfoilThe ISDA is doing its part to protect Idaho's quality of life and the state's scenic beauty. In April 2006, the Legislature and the Governor approved $4 million over two years to eradicate a very aggressive noxious weed, Eurasian Watermilfoil. In 2007 the Govenor and the Idaho Legislature approved an additional $4 million over two years.

As directed by H.B. 869 (2006), ISDA is expending the appropriated funds to support on-the-ground Eurasian Watermilfoil eradication projects through a statewide Eurasian Watermilfoil Program.
