The Cascade Harvest Coalition blog is a running commentary on current news surrounding local food, but not limited to agricultural issues. We believe that food is a universal and dynamic issue that deserves a more prominent place in public discussion. We want to show readers how food and farming topics are closely entwined with other current news and events. Some connections are already well documented, like the proximity of local food issues and environmental issues, but we also explore the relationship between farming and economic issues, farming and social change issues, farming and health issues, etc. Our blog is an attempt to push our ideas about food and farming out onto center stage and into tomorrow's water cooler talk.
