Validation and Qualification Sciences Experimental Complex

Our goal is to conduct physical simulations (experiments) that produce environments necessary to understand a problem. This understanding is achieved directly through diagnostic measurements and observations and indirectly through experimentally validated computational simulations that help to fully explore the problem space.

The Validation and Qualification Sciences Experimental Complex (VQSEC) at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is a unique group of test facilities that can create a broad range of engineering environments.

Located primarily in Sandia's Technical Area III, VQSEC is conveniently located 15 minutes south of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The facilities are secure and remote and are routinely used to perform tests with energetic and hazardous materials, including detonation of large explosive charges.

VQSEC is equipped with state-of-the-art data acquisition and photometric capabilities. Test devices and data classified at the Secret level can be accommodated at any VQSEC facility.

Whether your need is high-frequency transducer data or high-speed digital video, we can provide reliable information from highly instrumented experiments in harsh environments.
