Peter m. Brennan
Peter Brennan is currently the Chargé d'Affaires and was assigned Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Costa Rica since August, 2007. Prior to his assignment in Costa Rica, Mr. Brennan was the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Nicaragua (2004-2007), Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in San Jose (2000-2004). He entered the Foreign Service in 1984 and has served as Public Affairs Officer Montevideo, Uruguay (1996-2000); Cultural Affairs Officer Caracas, Venezuela (1990-93); Press Attache in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (1987-90); and Information Officer in Bridgetown, Barbados (1984-87).
In Washington he served as U.S. Information Agency liaison to the Treasury Department (1995-96), Special Assistant to the Counselor of USIA (1994-95), and Executive Assistant to the Associate Director of Policy and Programs (1993-94). A graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, Mr. Brennan pursued graduate studies at Georgetown and George Washington universities. He is married to Elizabeth Ann Brennan, and they have three children.
