ESA Subscription Policies:

Ordering

All orders are submitted via one of the ESA order forms. There are several different forms that you may need, depending upon your purchase intentions.

Subscriptions

All ESA subscriptions are sold on a calendar year basis, with subscriptions becoming activated on the first day of the year and expiring on the last day of the year, which shall constitute the volume for the year. ESA encourages all customers and subscribers to use the official ESA order form (either print or electronic) for the volume they are ordering. All subscriptions are to be prepaid and ESA cannot accept purchase orders for subscriptions. Prices shown online and in the catalog are for this year only and may change without notice. If the amount paid is not correct (e.g., using a previous year's order form or a total not calculated properly), the payment will be adjusted as appropriate for credit card purchases or the customer's subscription may be held in queue pending receipt of the remaining funds if paid by check or money order. ESA retains the right to alter policies and terms at any point.

Print subscriptions:  Subscription orders received after the first issue of the volume will be shipped back issues. Subscriptions are only available for current volume only. Orders for a previous volume will be treated as back issue orders. If a subscription is cancelled, payments will NOT be prorated and there will be no refunds on the un-dispatched issues. Subscription orders received after December 31st for any previous year will be treated as back issue orders.

Online subscriptions:  Subscription orders are activated upon receipt of payment and will expire at the end of the calendar/volume year. Effective with calendar year 2005, subscriptions include access to past issues, beginning with 1999, in addition to current issues. Orders for a previous volume are not available electronically. Therefore, print back issues or a current subscription (which includes back issues) must be purchased. If an online subscription is not renewed, the customer retains access to the year purchased but loses access to all other back issues. This access will remain in effect for as long as ESA continues offering online subscriptions. There are two different license agreements. One for all four of the online journals and one for Arthropod Management Tests.

Back Issues

If ESA receives a subscription for a prior year, back issue prices will apply, at the following rates, which are subject to change without notice:

$13.00 per issue for ESA members in the USA
$17.00 per issue for ESA members not residing in the USA
$38.00 per issue for non-members in the USA
$44.00 per issue for non-members not residing in the USA

Claims

ESA agrees to ship all issues for which the customer has subscribed in accordance with the terms described above. For non-receipt due to postal difficulties, a reasonable attempt will be made to honor claims one time. Claims for missing issues for domestic subscribers must be made within 90 days of the shipping date. Claims for missing issues for foreign subscribers must be made no sooner than 90 days and no later than 180 days of the shipping date. Claims received prior to the described waiting period will neither be responded to nor acknowledged.

An attempt will be made to honor claims for non-receipt of issues if the claim is made within the designated period. Shipment methods are not guaranteed, however, and replacement is contingent upon availability. Further, excessive claims to any particular customer or address will be tracked and may result in denial of subscription privileges in the future or requirement of additional postal fees.

Books

All titles purchased from ESA should be ordered via the official order form (click here to access). For books not included on this order form, contact APS. ESA will attempt to maintain prices throughout the life of the catalog (September 1 through August 31). Price is not guaranteed. All book prices include shipping and handling (S&H) for deliveries to the Continental United States (CONUS). Orders can take up to 3 weeks to be received for domestic orders and considerably longer for overseas orders. Refunds are automatically issued for items that are no longer available. If an item is temporarily out of stock, your order will be “back ordered” and will ship when the item becomes available. Consult the Sales Department.

Returns must be in perfect condition and in original packaging to be accepted. Each return will be handled on an individual basis (i.e. you cannot deduct returned titles from future orders. Each will be handled separately). Up to 30 days from invoice you will receive a full refund. From 30-120 days from invoice you will receive a full refund less a 15% restocking fee. From 120-365 days from the date of the invoice, you will receive a full credit less the 15% restocking fee. No returns can be accepted for orders over 365 days old.
