This is a database of notices for planned layoffs that are filed with the state Employment Development Department under the California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act. The WARN Act requires certain employers to give affected employees at least 60 days advance written notice of an intended plant closing or mass layoff. (Note: The state updates the WARN list once a month. The data below starts with layoffs after Nov. 1, 2008, and is based on information updated on Dec. 15, 2008.)
