Test cases offer opportunities to compare methods for initializing and forcing models, and to compare model results with those from other models, theory, or measurements. The test cases provided here represent an evolving suite of scenarios that encompass a range of basic physical situations relevant to coastal sediment-transport problems.
Specifications are available for the following test cases:
Case 1: Channel Flow
Case 2: Estuary
Case 3: Lake Signell
Case 4: Headland with Tidal Flow
Results from model applications are available for the following cases:
Test Case 1: Straight Flume a. Results with USGS development version of ROMS b. Your model results can be posted here!
Test Case 2: Estuary a. Results with USGS development version of ROMS b. Your model results can be posted here!
Test Case 3: Lake Signell a. Results with USGS development version of ROMS b. Your model results can be posted here!
Test Case 4: Tidal Headland a. Results with USGS development version of ROMS b. Your model results can be posted here!
Development and refinement of test-case specifications is ongoing, and feedback is encouraged. We encourage interested modellers to run these test cases. To post or link results to this site, please contact Chris Sherwood (csherwood@usgs.gov).
