USDA 1890 National Scholars Program :This program, providing free tuition and other benefits, is aimed at students studying agriculture or related subjects at A&T and other historically black 1890 land-grant universities, with the goal of placing successful graduates into career positions at USDA.

Syngenta Scholars Program : This program was established in 2001 by Syngenta for students majoring in agribusiness. This scholarship provides for educational expenses for full-time students majoring in Agribusiness with a GPA of at least 3.0. Application Process:
Letter of Interest addressed to the Department Chair
Documentation of GPA of 3.0 or higher
Documentation of leadership activities and participation in extra-curricula activities;
Letter of recommendation from a faculty or high school teacher;
A 500 word essay outlining how the scholarship will enhance the applicant’s future career opportunities.
The Department reviews the applications and selects eight applications, which are then submitted to Syngenta who will select two students from these applications.
Amount of Scholarship: $1000 per semester per student.

Smith-Allen Scholarship: This scholarship was established by two former graduates in agricultural economics (Joyce Allen and Kelvin Smith) to support an incoming freshman or a continuing student in agricultural economics who has at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Application Process: The Department Chairperson selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students in agricultural economics.
Amount of Scholarship: $500 per year.

A.P. Bell Scholarship Fund: This scholarship was established by Dr. Calvin Arthur Bell in honor of his father, Dr. Arthur P. Bell, for many years of distinguished and dedicated services to N.C. A&T State University. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to further enhance the Agricultural Education Program at N.C. A&T State University by providing financial assistance to promising and needy students who enroll in Agricultural Education.

Criteria:
- the students shall be citizens of the United States
- the recipients may be incoming freshmen majoring in Agricultural Education or students currently enrolled in the University as Agricultural Education majors
- the scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of financial needs and academic performance or promise. Regarding the last criterion, any freshmen or first-year student who meets the requirements for admission to the University is eligible as well as sophomores, juniors or seniors who have at least a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Application Process: The Department Chairperson selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students in agricultural economics.

Amount of Scholarship: $1500 per year (to be awarded from interest)
2 students will be awarded $750 each

Edna J. and Mae Cynthia Lee Education Fund: This is a need-based scholarship to support a student of high moral character as substantiated by three letters of recommendation including one’s pastor, former teacher and a community leader. Further, the student must be committed to the furtherance of high standards in the teaching profession while enrolled in a teacher preparation program. The student recipient should be of junior or senior standing with an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, and provide other indicators that point to the student becoming an effective licensed teacher in the public schools.
Application Process: The Department Chairperson selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students in agricultural economics.

American Cyanamid Scholarship: This scholarship was established by the American Cyanamid Company to support student scholarships and other student activities in the Department of Agricultural Education, Economics and Rural Sociology. Students majoring in agricultural economics or agricultural education are eligible recipients.
Application Process: The Department Chairperson, in consultation with the Human Resources Department at American Cyanamid, selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students in agricultural economics or agricultural education.

National Agri-Marketing Association Scholarship: This scholarship was established by the Carolinas-Virginia Professional Chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) of the Carolinas to support scholarships among students majoring in agricultural economics, agribusiness and marketing.To receive this scholarship. Students must also maintain membership in the NCA&TSU student chapter of NAMA.
Application Process: The state chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association selects the recipient undergraduate students in agricultural economics, agribusiness or marketing.
Amount of Scholarship: $600 per year.

Total number of recipients for each scholarship: One per year.

Cargill Endowment: This endowment was established in 1988 by Cargill, Incorporated, to provide an easier path for students majoring in agricultural business, animal science, business or accounting to attain a top quality education. The scholarships are to be awarded on a rotational basis for 20 years. There are five eligibility criteria:
- be a junior or senior
- have higher than an average grade point average, i.e., top 50% of their class
- demonstrate evidence of leadership by participating in extra-curricula activities - major in agricultural business, animal science, business or accounting - be black or female.
Application Process: The Department Chairperson selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students in agricultural business.
Amount of Scholarship: $1,250 per year.

Total number of recipients for each scholarship: One per year.

Elanco Animal Health Scholarship: This scholarship was established in 1998 by Elanco Animal Health, a division of Eli Lilly, for students majoring the food and agricultural sciences to assist in the payment of educational expenses while in full-time attendance.
The criteria are:
-  A grade point average of 3.0 or higher
-  Participation in extra-curricula activities
-  Leadership activities
-  A letter of recommendation from a faculty.
Application Process: The department chairpersons select 10 students who meet the above criteria and submit the applications to Elanco Animal Health. Elanco Animal Health selects five students from these applications.
Amount of Scholarship: $1,000 per semester

Total number of recipients for each scholarship: Five per semester.

Prince E. and Ruth E. Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund: The scholarship fund was established in 1998 by Mr. Prince E. Smith, a member of the class of 1951 and his wife, Mrs. Ruth E. Smith, a member of the class of 1955. This scholarship fund was established as a continuing legacy of the Smith’s and is intended to support students enrolled at North Carolina A&T State University. It is designed to assist students in furthering their education and in fulfilling a better life for themselves.

An agricultural education major; if no such applicant is available, other departments in the School of Agriculture shall be considered
Grade point average of 2.5 or higher
A resident of Vance or Pitt Counties; if no such student is available from these two counties, then student can be chosen from Guilford County.

Application Process: Applicants must complete a scholarship application designed by the School of Agriculture. A scholarship committee, appointed by the Dean, shall review all applications and select a recipients no later than June 1 of the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. The name of the recipient shall be communicated to the Smiths by July 1 of each year in which the award is to be given.
Amount of Scholarship: $1,000 per year.

Natural Resources Conservation Service: The scholarship fund was established in 1995 as a result of a cooperative research agreement between North Carolina A&T State University and the Social Sciences Institute of the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

The criteria are: an agricultural economics or agricultural education major; if no such applicants are available, other departments in the School of Agriculture shall be considered
grade point average of 2.5 or higher for undergraduate students and grade point average of 3.0 or higher for graduate students.

Application Process: The Department Chairperson selects the recipient from the eligible undergraduate students.
