This section represents the team approach that is utilized by the Office of Legacy Management (LM) in monitoring and managing the transition and closure of designated Department of Energy (DOE) sites.

The following includes activities and documents for the Office of Land and Site Management which has the responsibility of implementing long-term surveillance and maintenance projects at sites that are transferred to LM to ensure sustainable protection of human health and the environment; information and updates for site closures and transition activities that are overseen by the Office of Policy and Site Transition; and information for the Office of Property Management and Community Assistance which is responsible for real and personal property transfers and community assistance that has been established to mitigate the impact of restructuring or closure at DOE’s sites.
