MetroAccess Paratransit

MetroAccess ID Card Policy

MetroAccess customers are required to show their valid MetroAccess ID cards upon boarding any MetroAccess vehicle. Your MetroAccess ID card is issued to you for your use only and must remain in your possession. Your MetroAccess ID card allows you to travel aboard MetroAccess vehicles along with one Personal Care Attendant (PCA), who may accompany you free of charge.

You and one companion may also travel aboard Metrobus or Metrorail free of charge. Additional people traveling with you must pay the standard fare. To take advantage of this benefit, present your MetroAccess ID card to the Metrobus operator or Metrorail station manager. If your MetroAccess ID card is lost or stolen, you must report it immediately by calling 301-562-5360 (select option 4 for Eligibility office) or TTY 301-588-7535 or call toll free at 1-800-523-7009.

MetroAccess customer service representatives are available during all MetroAccess operating hours. Call 301-562-5360, press 2 for trip status, and then press 2 to speak to a customer service representative.

To confirm or cancel a trip, you can speak with a customer service representative or you can use our automated InstantAccess system. To use InstantAccess, call 301-562-5360 and press 3 for InstantAccess. Trips may be canceled with as little as two hours' notice without penalty.

To book or cancel trips online, you may use your MetroAccess customer ID number to log in. Your password is your 8-digit date of birth. Choose the site below that will work for you:

You can use your MetroAccess customer ID number to log in. Your password is your 8-digit date of birth. Customers can get account details such as account balance, trip debits, and cancellations/no-show credits.
