Nonnative Grasses Currently Being Examined by the CPER Team

A large number of introduced grasses have shown the ability to establish wild populations in the coastal prairie region. As a group, invasive grasses are believed to represent one of the greatest potential threats to restoration and management efforts. However, the potential threats posed by many of these species are not well understood at this time. The Coastal Prairie Ecology Research Team at the National Wetlands Research Center is currently conducting a series of studies aimed at understanding the invasive potential and possible ecological impacts posed by the following:
