Agricultural programs are designed to prepare students for employment in agricultural extension, teaching vocational agriculture, practical farm operation and management, industry and government agencies. Career opportunities with a degree in soil and plant science include agronomy, agricultural extension services, crop breeding, foresters, greenhouse management, horticulture, plant scientist, practical farm operation and management, government and industry, soil conservation, soil scientist, teaching and research, turfgrass specialist, weed scientist, and environmental scientist.

A horticulture option and environmental science option are offered to the Soil and Plant Science degree.
