The following routes have upcoming or recent schedule changes:

Effective Dec. 28, the 4:10 p.m. bus will be extended from Hunting Towers to Mt. Vernon. Buses will be extended to Potomac Park. Weekday mornings, buses will end at 19th Street and Virginia Avenue. In the afternoon, buses will leave from 18th and C streets, NW. Weekday afternoon and evening bus schedules will change slightly.

Effective Sunday, January 25, 2009, service will change as follows: Routes 13A, 13G - Clockwise Regular route to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue & 10th Street NW, then right 10th Street, left Constitution Avenue and continue regular route. Effective Dec. 28, route shortened to run between Rosslyn and Tysons Corner. The schedule also will change to improve transfer connections at Tysons Corner with the new 15M Metrobus. The loop into Lewinsville Retirement Home is discontinued. Buses will serve the bus stops on Great Falls Street at the entrance to the facility.

Effective Dec. 28, A NEW 15M bus will serve that portion of the current 15K and 15L route between George Mason University and Tysons Corner. Buses will run weekdays, approximately every 25 to 40 minutes.

Effective Dec. 28, the weekday schedule will change. Buses will run every 7-1/2 minutes between 7:15 and 8:30 a.m. and every ten minutes between 4:55 and 6:25 p.m. One morning bus and one afternoon bus will be added to the weekday schedule.

Effective Dec. 28, buses leaving the Pentagon weekdays between 4:40 and 6:10 p.m. will operate as local service. Buses will serve all bus stops west of I-95/395 HOV Lanes, including along Old Keene Mill Road.

Effective Dec. 28, weekday and Saturday schedules will change Buses will be rerouted on NVCC's Alexandria Campus to bypass Fillmore Avenue. Service via George Mason Drive and Skyline Plaza discontinued. Service will continue on Seminary Road at George Mason Drive.

Effective Dec. 28, an additional bus will leave Tysons Corner on weekdays at 10 p.m., going to Baileys Crossroads. Service will bypass Seven Corners Center (Leesburg Pike at Castle Road).

Effective Dec. 28, weekday buses from Southern Ave Metro station at 10:20, 10:50, 11:20 and 11:50 a.m. and 12:20 and 12:50 p.m. going to Farragut Square will be discontinued. Other bus times will change slightly.

Effective Dec. 28, M5 buses will be renumbered as Rt. 34 buses, and the route will be extended to run between Naylor Road Metro station and Archives via Eastern Market Metro station. Buses will follow the current M5 routing between Naylor Road and Eastern Market stations. From Eastern Market station, buses will continue to Archives via Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Independence Avenue, 7th Street SW and Constitution Avenue NW to the terminal on 10th Street NW. Eastbound buses will leave from the 10th Street NW terminal and continue via Pennsylvania Avenue, 7th Street and Independence Avenue SW to Pennsylvania Avenue SE and Eastern Market station; from there, buses will resume the current M5 routing to Naylor Road station. The frequency of service will be changed to every 20 minutes on weekdays between 4:30 and 9 a.m., and every 60 minutes after 9 p.m. week nights and Saturday night. The first eastbound bus of the day, weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and the last westbound bus on Sundays will be discontinued.

Effective Dec. 28, an eastbound 36 bus will leave Virginia Avenue and 21st Street, NW, weekdays at 3:17 p.m. going to Naylor Road Metro station. Other bus times will change slightly.

38B
Effective Dec. 28, weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change. On weekdays, buses will run every 12 minutes during the morning rush hours, every 20 minutes in the midday and every 15 minutes during the afternoon rush hours. In the evenings, buses will run every 30 minutes until service ends after 1 a.m. On Saturdays, buses will run every 30-35 minutes until service ends after 1 a.m., and on Sundays, buses will run every 30 minutes. After 8 p.m. on Sundays, buses will run every 30-35 minutes until midnight.

Effective Dec. 28, the 2:40 a.m. southbound bus and the 2:15 and 3:04 a.m. northbound buses, which run only on Fridays, will be changed to run every weeknight. Other bus times also will change slightly.

Effective Dec. 28, new weekday, rush hour only Route 43 buses will serve Mount Pleasant. Southbound buses will leave from Mount Pleasant and 17th streets NW (H8 bus stop) and continue via Mount Pleasant Street, Columbia Road, California Street (cut-off to Connecticut Avenue), Connecticut Avenue (using the underpass at Dupont Circle) and continue via Connecticut Avenue and 17th Street NW to the terminal stand north of I (Eye) Street. Southbound buses will not serve the stops on Connecticut Avenue at Q Street and Dupont Circle. Northbound 43 buses will start on the north side of I (Eye) Street NW, west of 13th Street, then continue on I (Eye) Street to 17th Street and Connecticut Avenue. Buses will continue on Connecticut Avenue (using the underpass at Dupont Circle), then follow the current 42 bus route to the Mount Pleasant terminal at Lamont and Mount Pleasant streets NW. Northbound 43 buses will not serve stops on Connecticut Avenue at Dupont Circle, Q and 20th streets NW. New 43 service will replace approximately one-half of the current southbound Route 42/ buses from Mount Pleasant to Farragut Square between 7:50 and 9:15 a.m., and 42 buses from Farragut Square between 3:20 and 7 p.m.

Effective Dec. 28, route 64 will be extended to run between Fort Totten Metro station and Federal Triangle via Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station. The route will not change between Fort Totten and Georgia Ave-Petworth stations. Buses will follow the current Route 66 bus routing between Georgia Ave-Petworth and Federal Triangle. Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will change. The frequency of service will be changed to every 15 minutes during the evening rush hours and every 22 minutes on Saturday.

Effective Dec. 28, counterflow rush hour buses will travel via Mahan Road within the FDA Federal Research Complex in White Oak instead of via Michelson Road and will serve Building 1. Bus times will not change.

L1
Effective Dec. 28, the 6:18 p.m. northbound L1 bus from C and 17th streets NW will be changed to leave at 6:28 p.m.

L2
The 7:01 p.m. northbound L2 bus from Van Ness UDC Metro station will leave at 7:05 p.m.

M5
Effective Dec. 28, M5 buses will be renumbered as Rt. 34 buses, and the route will be extended to run between Naylor Road Metro station and Archives via Eastern Market Metro station. Buses will follow the current M5 routing between Naylor Road and Eastern Market stations. From Eastern Market station, buses will continue to Archives via Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Independence Avenue, 7th Street SW and Constitution Avenue NW to the terminal on 10th Street NW. The frequency of service will be changed to 20 minutes on weekdays between 4:30 and 9 a.m., and every 60 minutes after 9 p.m. week nights and Saturday night. The first eastbound bus of the day weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays and the last westbound bus on Sunday will be discontinued.

Effective, Dec. 29, on weekdays, the 4:34 p.m. N2 from Farragut Square will be changed to leave that location at 4:32 p.m.

Effective Dec. 28, northbound buses from Anacostia Metro station weekdays at 6:38, 6:50, 7:02, 7:12, 7:20 and 7:28 a.m. will be changed to leave at 6:34, 6:44, 7:04, 7:14, 7:24 and 7:34 a.m. The 7:36 a.m. bus from Anacostia will be discontinued, and a new bus will leave Anacostia station at 6:54 a.m. going to Deanwood. New southbound buses will leave Deanwood Metro station weekdays at 7:49 a.m., and when school is open, at 3:10 p.m. The 7:54 a.m. weekday bus from Deanwood will be changed to leave at 7:58 a.m.

Z2
Effective Dec. 28, the 8:01 and 8:31 a.m. buses from Silver Spring on weekdays will be extended from Randolph Road to Bonifant Road in Colesville to accommodate customers who attend Thornton Friends School (New Hampshire Avenue and Hobbs Drive).
