Accounting Officer III
$6,935 - $8,043 monthly DOQ

(Appointment is generally made at one of the
first three steps, depending on qualifications.)

Under general direction of the Director of Finance, manage the fiscal operations of the Authority and supervise a clerical and professional accounting staff.

Requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; and three years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or auditing experience, two years of which must have been supervising a staff in the operation of a complex accounting system. A Masters degree in Business Accounting or Finance may be substituted for one year of the experience requirement. Also requires knowledge of financial management software systems, general accounting/auditing principles, and methods and procedures. Additionally, ability to prepare concise reports and make recommendations; plan, organize, and direct the work of others; and communicate effectively. Must possess a valid CA Class C drivers license, and have an insurable driving record. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. Candidates with bilingual skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese are encouraged to apply.
