Montana State University Extension has been in existence for nearly 100 years. The original purpose of the nationwide agency was to educate farmers and ranchers about new research from land-grant universities in the United States. With faculty in every Montana county, Extension still educates through unbiased research, but with a broader audience that includes nearly everyone.

Currently, Montana ranks high in the nation for potential energy development. Quality unbiased information is in demand to help make decisions about energy development. Through this Web site and other communication, MSU Extension will continue its mission by providing timely research results to help the people of Montana make informed decisions about energy production and consumption.
