RSS FEEDS

RSS feeds provide a simple way for sandia.gov news release headlines and summaries to be delivered to your desktop. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It allows you to keep track of news and updates from many different sites using a feed reader, also sometimes called a news reader or news aggregator.

Sandia's RSS feeds are free and available for non-commercial use. We require proper attribution whenever our content is displayed and reserve the right to require that you cease distributing Sandia content.

Instructions

  1. Install an RSS feed reader
    • A feed reader is required to view headlines and summaries. There are two main types: standalone or plug-in applications. Standalone applications simply process RSS feeds for you, while plug-ins work with an existing application such as Microsoft Outlook or your web browser. For a complete list of feed readers, visit downloads.com and search for "RSS Readers." Google lists a number of popular web-based readers.

  2. Add the RSS feed URL
    • Identify the appropriate place in your news reader to add a feed
    • Click on the XML symbol below and copy the URL from your browser window
    • Paste the URL into the place for adding an RSS feed
    • Select "add" or "subscribe," depending on the program
