Protestors' Dress Style Changes; Message Doesn't
The nuclear testing program has generated a lot of publicity during
its 42-year history. Much of the publicity has not been kind to the
thousands of Nevada Test Site employees.
Numerous anti-nuclear activists have vented their anger at the
Department of Energy (DOE) and its predecessors, the Atomic Energy
Commission, Energy Research and Development Administration.
While their message "stop nuclear testing" has not changed over the
years, the delivery of that message and the attire of the nuclear
activists have changed.
Countless activists have confronted Test Site public affairs officers
and security officials in Las Vegas and at the Nevada Test Site.
Fortunately, there have been no serious injuries during the incidents.
