Industrial Sites Sub-Project

Industrial Site Tank Photo The Industrial Sites Sub-Project characterizes and remediates areas located on the Nevada Test Site and the Tonopah Test Range on the Nevada Test and Training Range that were used to support past nuclear testing operations. Industrial Sites Sub-Project activities focus on the characterization and applicable corrective actions for these sites.

More than 1,850 of these historic areas, or industrial sites, were identified, verified, and inventoried for characterization, closure, and/or restoration. Of these, more than 1,650 sites are formally closed with State of Nevada approval.
