Health Data Information
TOXMAP's health layers were generated using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program SEER*Stat Database: Mortality - All Causes of Death, Public-Use With County, Total US (1990-2005), National Cancer Institute, DCCPS, Surveillance Research Program, Cancer Statistics Branch, released April 2008. Underlying mortality data provided by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These layers include selected county-level demographics. Death rates are age-adjusted to the 2000 US standard population (19 age groups). Katrina/Rita adjusted populations were used.
