New in TOXMAP: more search options, geographic regions

August 7, 2007

TOXMAP now contains more search options and geographic regions. New features include:

  • More search options: search TOXMAP by CAS/RN, TRI facility name/ID, release medium, release year ranges, release amount, Superfund NPL site name/ID, and Hazard Ranking System (HRS) score.
  • Geographic regions: create your own geographic region, or select a pre-defined region from a list. Setting a geographic region limits search results to those inside the specified region. Regions can be saved for future access and a provided URL will start TOXMAP with your region already selected.
  • Regional TRI summary tables: view summary (aggregate) TRI release amounts for any geographic region
  • Updated Superfund data.

TOXMAP has improved location data

November 7, 2006

The EPA (http://www.epa.gov) recently released updated and more accurate TRI location data from its Facility Registry System (FRS) (http://www.epa.gov/frs/). TOXMAP has incorporated these changes, which correct many TRI location inaccuracies in the FRS. Such corrections will continue to be incorporated into TOXMAP as they become available.

See the TOXMAP FAQ about TRI location accuracy for more information.
