Oak Ridge National Laboratory, on behalf of the Department of Energy, is hosting the premier student scientific research competition of the year for undergraduate student interns and other students.

The 2008 Science and Energy Research Challenge (SERCh) Poster Competition showcases the research projects of DOE-funded students and interns at the national laboratories. This year, up to 100 student researchers will convene in Oak Ridge, Tennessee to present their research in a poster. During the competition weekend, students and their faculty advisors, along with laboratory personnel, will attend seminars and tour user facilities at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Student researchers will vie for awards in each of five categories; 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place, for $3000, $1500, and $1000 scholarships, respectively. One overall winner will receive a grand prize scholarship of $10,000.
