Significant events identified by Satellite Analysis Branch meteorologists and reviewed by the Operational Significant Event Imagery support team Thursday December 18, 2008 are as follows:

IMAGE D6140: MTSAT <> Image Type=single band <> 12/19/2008 08:30 UTC. On December 19, 2008 at 1200 UTC, Tropical Cyclone Billy was located near 14.7S 128.5E 195 NM southwest of Darwin, Australia. Billy was moving west at 2 mph with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and gusts to 63 mph.
