Facilities & Maintenance Technician
|
| Description
Summary Performs a variety of general maintenance that pertains to facility and equipment repairs in the Administrative Offices, Distribution Center and Production Department. (Assists the Distribution Center, as a Warehouse Person on an as needed basis).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for all general equipment and facility repairs and maintenance for Frieda's, Distribution Center and Production when directed by department manager.
Responsible for maintaining records of all maintenance and repair activities, and recommending preventative maintenance as required.
Assists the department manager in meeting policy and procedures guidelines in the area of general facility maintenance.
Installs office equipment, machinery, carpeting, electrical fixtures, racks and other general equipment. Able to perform basic maintenance on forklift and palletjack equipment and other miscellaneous items as needed.
Reviews supplies utilized in general service and reports to department manager when reorder points are reached. Responsible for keeping working supplies on hand.
Ensures that chemicals, cleaning products and/or general use hazardous products are clearly labeled and stored in a locked storage cabinet.
Responsible for maintaining the MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets) notebook.
Conducts monthly safety inspection of forklift and pallet jacks and quarterly safety inspections of the building.
Paints interior and exterior walls and floors.
Must be punctual and available to work overtime as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least two years of job related work experience. Must have a general working knowledge of basic OSHA requirements and keeps abreast of federal and state regulations. Basic computer skills required.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read blue prints

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
